Accommodation

We have found a range of accommodation options to suit everyone. We’ve surveyed all sorts of places ranging from hotels, hostels and private apartments. Whatever your budget, I’m sure you’ll find something here! Personally, we’d recommend getting a private apartment as they’re often cheaper than hotels, there’s a massive selection here and they have a lot more character.

If you do decide to stay in one of the hotels – we recommend booking through Lastminute, ExpediaBookings or something similar, rather than direct from the hotel – generally you’re going to get  a better deal that way!

For those of you who have not yet been to Berlin, we’ve included a bit of information about each district in the Map/Info page  the different suburbs to help with your decision. Of course if you have any questions or concerns – just email us or give us a call!

MITTE

Radisson Blu Very nice, but pretty pricey. Standard room per night without breakfast – 180€.

Ramada Again, this might be a bit expensive – so have a look on the booking sites to see if they have any special offers.

Park Inn The Park Inn is located right in the center of the city at Alexanderplatz.

H2 Hotels This is also located right near Alexanderplatz, just a short walk from the S and U-bahn station.

Baxpax Downtown Baxpax is a well-known Backpacker chain in Berlin. There is one located in Kreuzberg and another one in North Mitte. (Personally, we’d recommend the Kreuzberg one as the staff are cool and it’s a great location). The rooms are reasonably priced:

– double room with shower/wc from 34,- Euro per person/night

– double room without shower/wc from 30,- Euro per person/night

– 3-bed-room from 28,- Euro per person/night

– 8-bed-room from 18,- Euro per person/night

– 10-12-bed-room from 16,- Euro per person/night

KREUZBERG

Baxpax Kreuzberg Baxpax is a great little hostel located in the heart of Kreuzberg, right near the Görlitzer Bahnhof. This is a great choice if you want to be in the centre of all the action as there are lots of bars, clubs, cafes and restaurants around. Room costs are roughly the same as the Downtown ones – although this may differ slightly depending on seasons.

Ferien Wohnung Kreuzberg This is a local company that rents out private apartments throughout the city. Jane, Roger, Abi and Eva have all stayed here and would recommend them. The owners have reserved flats 3 to 7 plus 9 as they appear on the website. There is also a large apartment (11) on Lausitzer Strasse 36. They are happy to give our guests a 5% discount for five nights and a 10% discount for 7 nights (so if you’re planning on coming for a week or more, this could be a good option). Let us know if you’re interested and we’ll put you in direct contact with the owner. – ACHTUNG!!!! – all apartments in this offer have now been snapped up. If you’re still at a loss for where to stay, please contact us directly.

Airbnb This is a really popular website in Berlin where you can find affordable, private, short-term accommodation. It’s definitely worth having a look if you want to stay in the suburbs rather than in the city. The site has different language options and I know a few peeps who have used it on a regular basis for holidays. This is a great option if you’re on a budget!

9Flats This is a similar site to Airbnb, but the company is actually located locally here in Berlin. Again – a great option if you want to stay in a Kiez rather than in the City.

NEUKÖLLN

9flats (see notes above)

A good friend of mine just passed on the details for this place:

Jansastr. 7
12045 Berlin

Her family often stay here when they come to visit. It is another private apartment which is very centrally located in Neukölln, so nice and close to us. The woman to talk to is Frau Anke Korthals. phone: 030-447 150 69
FRIEDRICHSCHAIN

Michelberger The Michelberger is somewhere between a Backpackers and a Hotel. They have art shows and events there regularly and is an interesting place to stay. Jess used to work there – so if you do decide to stay here…. I’m sure she’ll have some interesting stories to tell 🙂

Plus Ok Jess worked here too…. and they didn’t sound like the most ‘organised’ venue, or the best employers. But, its another option – good location etc so maybe check this out too.
